Jamie was 4 years old when she was diagnosed with Alpha-1-antitrypsin
deficiency (A1AD) and cirrhosis of the liver. Jamie’s liver disease steadily
worsened until she received her liver transplant at the age of 7. Since her
transplant there have been many clinic visits and bloods draws, but Jamie is
happy to report that she has been hospitalized just twice during the past 11
years for rejection.
Jamie graduated from high school in 1997. She is attending college
and pursuing her dream of a career working with transplant patients.
